History
The Instituto de Investigaciones Bioquímicas de Bahía Blanca (INIBIBBB) was established in 1970 at the Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS), focusing on research on the central nervous system and embryonic development, with emphasis on lipid metabolism. In 1973, INIBIBB began to integrate the system of Institutes of the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), being one of the first institutes at national level of double dependence, CONICET – UNS. In 1987, it moved to the Center for Basic and Applied Research of Bahía Blanca (CRIBABB), which marked a stage of growth; and from 2007, it was incorporated to the Scientific and Technological Center (CCT) Bahía Blanca. Throughout the years and under different directions, INIBIBB has consolidated its position as a reference in Biochemistry and Neurosciences. Committed to research and academic training, the Institute continues to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in these areas.
