 Research lines

Study of cAMP signaling pathways as regulators of processes involved in breast cancer progression

The mechanisms of regulation of intracellular and extracellular cAMP levels and their relationship with cellular processes related to tumor progression are studied.

Study of extracts of Plectranthus neochilus on human breast tumor lines

In this line, the emphasis is placed on the evaluation of the antitumor properties of extracts of Coleus neochilus, a plant that belongs to the same family (Lamiaceae) as Coleus forskohlii. From the latter, forskolin, a potent activator of adenylyl cyclase, is extracted. We are currently evaluating both the cellular effects and the associated signalling mechanisms.

Implementation research

Projects are currently being developed in different cities of the province in which the barriers and facilitators of colorectal cancer screening in the public health area are being addressed. This proposal lays the groundwork for future health decisions appropriate to the context, with the aim of increasing screening coverage and achieving an observable benefit in the target population.
